Instructions & usage
Put ten occasion words into alphabetical order. A separate answer sheet supports checking.
How to use
Choose A4 or US Letter and print one test copy at 100%. Learner sheets and helper sheets are separate downloads, so you can choose only the files you need. Use a pencil; add colouring pencils for illustrated activities. For cutting activities, offer adult help or pre-cut pieces.
Teaching and family notes
Waitangi Day commemorates the first signing of Te Tiriti o Waitangi and the Treaty of Waitangi in 1840. These are introductory literacy activities, not a substitute for the distinct texts or Māori perspectives. Use Waitangi Treaty Grounds resources.
What you’ll need
Paper, pencil and colouring pencils; adult cutting help for cut-out activities.
Make the most of it
Choose A4 or US Letter. Print helper sheets separately. See the resource notes for occasion-specific guidance.
