Instructions & usage
Find, count and colour six kinds of pictures in this Dinosaur Discovery I Spy game. The large search box contains 69 separate pictures, with nine to fourteen of each type.
How to play
- Choose an A4 or US Letter puzzle and print at actual size.
- Read the six picture labels together. Count only whole pictures inside the large box; the six examples below it are prompts.
- Mark or circle each picture as you count. Write its total in the matching box.
- Check the separate answer key, then colour the pictures.
What is included?
One puzzle and a separate answer page, each in A4 and US Letter. All files have individual previews; choose only the paper size and pages you need.
At home
Compare the dinosaur outlines. Point to horns, plates and long necks. These are playful cartoons, not scientific scale drawings. Circle one picture type at a time, then colour it after checking the total.
In the classroom
Read the six picture labels aloud first. Let partners alternate finding and recording, or invite children to mark one item at a time as they count. Compare the dinosaur outlines. Point to horns, plates and long necks. These are playful cartoons, not scientific scale drawings.
Make it your own
Try one picture type at a time, count aloud with a partner or use a different pencil colour for each type. For an extra challenge, compare two totals: which has more, and how many more? Keep the key separate until children are ready to check. Suggested ages 4–8 are guidance; adults can read the labels and support counting.
