Instructions & usage
An original Australian Book Week picture puzzle with five deliberate differences.
What is included?
One learner page and a separate numbered answer page in A4 and US Letter. Compare the same scene twice to find five changes in the objects and patterns inside the illustration. Both pictures can be coloured afterwards. Open the preview to check each file before printing at actual size.
At home
Compare the pictures together. Take turns describing a change without pointing, then check the separate answer page. Colour the finished pictures and tell a story about Australian Book Week.
In the classroom
Invite pairs to compare one area at a time and explain the difference they find. Use the answer sheet after checking all five changes. This is a visual comparison puzzle, not a factual model of the occasion.
Reflection prompts
- Which detail did you notice first?
- How can you describe a change precisely?
Use a pencil for puzzles and choose colouring materials for the illustration. Read the instructions together first. Younger children may need a reader; suggested ages are guidance, not a requirement. Keep the separate answer key aside until you have compared both pictures.
