Instructions & usage

ANZAC Day, 25 April, is a day of remembrance in Australia and New Zealand. Use quiet reflection and age-appropriate learning about service and remembrance, not combat games.

What is included?

Choose individual files from this free pack. A4 and US Letter versions are provided; puzzle answer sheets are separate. Open the preview to check each file before printing at actual size.

At home

Use the reflection sheet in a calm setting. Explain unfamiliar words gently and let children choose whether to discuss difficult feelings.

In the classroom

Use Australian War Memorial sources to introduce remembrance and service. This is a reflection and vocabulary activity, not a war game or a complete history lesson.

Reflection prompts

  • Draw or write a respectful way to remember people affected by war.
  • What could caring for others look like in your community?
  • Write one question to explore with a trusted adult.

Use a pencil for puzzles and choose colouring materials for the illustration. Read the instructions together first. Younger children may need a reader; suggested ages are guidance, not a requirement. The drawing prompts have many valid responses and do not need an answer key.
