Free Printable Tower of babel Activity Sheets
The Story of the Tower of Bable is a classic Children’s bible story found in Genesis Chapter 11 Years after the flood, after Noah and his family settled down and had more children, they began to move from place to place.
When they all reached the land of Babylon, they decided to settle there and build a very tall tower one that was so high ,that it would reach the sky and they could be at the same level as God.
The hearts of the people were proud, and they thought that they could reach the same level as God, the Highest of the Highest.
This In this story there pride was their downfall.
When God came down to the city and saw what the people were doing, He became very angry knowing that their intentions where of pride and evil.
And the LORD said, “If they have begun to do this as one people speaking the same language, then nothing they devise will be beyond them. Come, let Us go down and confuse their language, so that they will not understand one another’s speech.”Leading to the famous scripture: Genesis 11:6-7
He decided to put a stop to their construction, by making sure that nobody could understand the other. God made sure that all the people there began to speak a different language, so that neighbours could no longer understand each other.
When people tried to communicate, it turned into a whole babble of confused voices. Soon, everyone who spoke the same language left the city together, and in this way, they spread out across the world, taking their different languages with them.
This is why the tower is called the tower of “babel.” Perhaps the origin of the word “babble”.
