Choose a word search linked to a current interest. Read the word list together before starting, then take turns finding a word. Afterwards, choose three words to explain, draw or use in a sentence. Keep an answer sheet separate if one is provided.
In the classroom
Use a themed word search as a lesson starter, a partner activity or an option for early finishers. Ask learners to group the words by meaning or write their own clues once the grid is complete. Preview the puzzle first to judge whether its vocabulary and layout suit your group.
Before you print, check the resource’s instructions and available paper sizes. Choose the files you need, open a preview and try one test copy. Where several files are offered, you can select individual worksheets and keep answer sheets separate.
