Three optional five-minute Christian reflections for ages 3–5, 6–8 and 9–12, with timed prompts, quiet pauses and public-domain Bible readings.
Prepare the reflection
Read the age-specific script before the event. Keep the room comfortably lit and show a paper lantern. John 8:12 is the central reading, supported by Matthew 5:14 and 5:16 and Psalm 119:105. All quotations use the public-domain World English Bible.
Tell families that this is Christian content. Provide a general colouring station for children who prefer it. Children may listen, think or pass; prayer is optional. The scripts include timings for discussion and pauses, rather than five minutes of uninterrupted adult speech.
Printing and use
Choose the matching A4 or US Letter version. Print one test copy; crafts must be printed at actual size (100%). Adult help is needed for scissors and small parts. General activities can run alongside a clearly labelled optional Christian session.
