Whales are some of the most amazing animals in the ocean — and rorquals are some of the coolest whales around! Rorquals (say ROR-kwalls) are a big family of baleen whales that love to swim, splash, and sometimes even sing! Let’s meet the rorqual whales and learn one special, fun fact about each.
🌊 Blue Whale – The Biggest Animal on Earth
Did you know the blue whale is the largest animal to ever live — even bigger than any dinosaur? These gentle giants can grow longer than two school buses. Wow!
🚀 Fin Whale – The Fast Whale
Fin whales are built for speed! They’re the second biggest whale but super fast — racing through the water like a rocket ship!
🎶 Humpback Whale – The Singing Star
Humpback whales are famous for their songs. They sing long, beautiful tunes under the sea. Scientists think they use songs to talk to each other!
🌟 Sei Whale – The Zooming Whale
Sei whales are sleek and speedy. They glide through the ocean quickly, sometimes almost as fast as a car!
🐟 Bryde’s Whale – The Snack Hunter
Bryde’s whales love to eat! They chase schools of fish and gobble them up near the surface of the water. Splashy and snacky!

Antarctic minke whales are adventurers. They swim in cold Antarctic waters and are great at diving under sea ice!

Common minke whales might be the smallest rorquals, but they have super senses! Their strong sense of smell helps them find food far away.
