Instructions & usage
Nativity Words is a Christmas word search with a full illustrated black-and-white border, outlined letters and an outlined word bank to colour.
Choose your files
US and UK spelling editions are each available on A4 and US Letter, with separate solution sheets. Choose the language and paper size in the file labels. UK editions use colour and favourite; US editions use color and favorite where those words occur. Vocabulary and grids are checked separately for each edition.
How to play
Find ten words in the 12-by-12 grid. Words run to the right, down, diagonally down-right or diagonally up-right; none run backwards to the left. Mark each word in the two-column word bank, then colour the outlined lettering and illustrated border. The separate key marks every hidden word.
At home
Choose one word together and find its first letter. Read the word aloud, search for the next letters and cross it off once found. After the puzzle, colour the border and talk about the festive objects pictured.
In the classroom or OSHC
Choose the US or UK edition to match your classroom spelling. Let pairs compare strategies without showing the answer sheet. Use the word list for a short Christmas writing activity, then offer colouring time.
Printing and support
Print one test page at actual size and check the preview before choosing files. Suggested ages 6–10 are guidance; children may need help reading or finding details. These illustrations are creative activities, not historical or factual diagrams. Share the resource page rather than uploading the PDF elsewhere.
